Today was spent doing tours of UW Place for Student Life 101 day. Wow. Crazy busy! So many people, and mainly parents, had to explore every square inch of the rooms to get a feel for them. It was too ridiculous. And so the tours took forever because people were refusing to leave the rooms, so by the time you got back down to the tour epicentre, there was about 25 more people waiting for you to take them on their tour. The number one question "is there air conditioning?" "umm....this is residence, these kids are lucky with what they've got." There were some nice families that were estatic with the living conditions. We do have pretty nice residences compared to others, in my opinion.
It was definately weird to be close to 5 years older than many of the incoming students. There is a definiate observable difference in the ways these kids expect to be treated compared to what we expected coming in first year. I think I expected one hellish expeirence, having to share a room! Them my observations for today.
