Here's an old story I wrote when I was nine years-old. Johnny discovered it during our last trip to Uxbridge.

The Dog Who Didn't Know How to Surf
Once in a dark and cold DOGPOUND was a cuddly, white, two week old puppy lying on an old beat up blanket that looked as though it was in a fight with Hulk Hogan. The little puppy's mother had died one week after she gave birth because she had heart worm disease. The puppy's mother was a huskie and his father was a black lab, so he turned out to be a white lab. White labs are very rare. Since the dog was a very rare breed he costs $11.00. One day a boy came in, the boy looked at a little black dog with a red bow around her neck, the bow had killed the dog half an hour ago, because it was too tight, but the boy didn't know that. Then the boy walked over to the puppy and said "That's the puppy I want, but I only have $7.00. Maybe I can work to earn $4.00." His first job was to cut his father's lawn for $1.50. Then he cleaned out cages at the dogpound for $2.00. Then he helped his mother carry in her apples and bananas for $0.50. He had now earned $4.00. The boy's name was Jon. Jon rushed back to the dogpound. On his way there, he realized he had forgotten to ask his mother and father's permission. He ran all the way back. He was careful not to step on a crack so he would not break his mother's back and then of course, he wouldn't get the puppy. When he got home, his mother said "If you get the dog you have to take him to the beach Saturday." So of course Jon said "I promise." Then he ran as fast as he could to the pound. He found $5.00 on the way. (By now you probably wonder how Jon gets there. He just lives 2 streets away.) So when he got back, he bought the puppy and with his $5.00 he bought a $2.00 leash.

What a relief - Stephanie Tanner is coming back to TV. Her tag line is just a tad unfortunate and appears with most google searches of Jodie Sweetin's name - former child star and crystal meth addict. That's something you'd maybe expect Kimmy Gibbler to have done, instead she grew up, went to school, got married and had a kid - not doing any acting since 1995. That's your Full House update.

What brings joy to my life currently: a mini whoopee cushion that came inside a birthday card from my co-workers. It's a great travel size and lets out the perfect sounding farts. The size is small engough that I can sneak it around without people seeing it before I let one rip. I have perfected the art of a wet fart, a quick fart and a slow fart. The silent-but-deadly fart is a tricky one to master but I will be there soon.

I purposely keep my alarm clock across the room from the bed so I have to get out of bed to shut it off. It's worked like a charm for me and I always suggest this to people who have trouble waking up in the morning. However, for whatever reason yesterday I managed to get up, go over, turn off the alarm and then I crawled back into bed. I have no memory of this but John reports that's what happened and luckily he woke me up an hour and a half after that so I could rush into work quite late. It's not like I was even drunk the night before or have another excuse. It drives me crazy when my body acts differently than I'm used to.

My newest gadget is the Zen Vison:M from Creative Labs. Although I was initally tempted by the iPod video and it's sleek look I decided to try out this competitor - mainly because of it's apparent ease in playing downloaded videos without the need to convert files with some type of i-product. Both this product and the iPod video were the same price but the Vision:M came with a few extras that also helped win me over.
I've had it for about 4 weeks now and am extremly happy with it - especially after I figured out how to skip the current track. I'm sure I'll discover more new fantastic things about it as we explore our relationship. My current exciting task is to create some good playlists for the gym.
