Have survived the mid-term trip to Brussels and Paris as well as the internet being down for 24 hours (which was the harder of the two to survive).
Brussels was a cute city where we were actually located somewhere central finally! Ate many many waffles and drank lots of cheap good beer.
Our arrival in Paris was met with a snow flurry. It made things somewhat pretty but it was totally freezing. Grrrr. We did an evening boat cruise with all the students, which was messy as all hell. The tour guide was apparently saying in french how uneducated all the students are and how she wanted to throw them overboard. The cruise ended with a drunk student being sick all over the seats. Klassy to the max. After that we split from most of the students to enjoy some wine along the streets of Paris until Jeff had the bottle of wine ripped out of his hands by a mugger! Luckily they just wanted the wine, only in Paris.

Yesterday, I held over $200,000 in my right hand - and no not while I was visiting the loo. We visited The Bank of England Museum, which had a real life gold bar, weighing 13 kilograms. You had to reach your hand through this plastic case and then you could hold it and pick it up. Very cool.

Having learnt that Tom Hanks is playing the lead role in the movie The Da Vinci Code, I just threw up a little in my mouth. It's being directed by Ron Howard and the lead women is being played by Audrey Tatou. This combo is not good at all. Not that I am a huge fan of the book I was just waiting for news on a movie based on it as it's got it had some great potential for the big screen.

Despite being alone on Valentine's Day, I was still able to do something romantic: booking a train to Paris. Thanks to the cheesy Kit Kash promotion happening here, 5 Kit Kat wrappers transpired into a 2-for-1 deal on the Eurostar. Kit Kats have always been my favourite.

I am beginning to get sick of the clothes I brought with me. Obviously not the entire wardrobe came, so it's been pretty easy to grow tired of a small selection. Orginally I thought I'd only be leaving a few items here, but now that list of ill-fated items is growing in size. I don't even want to imagine what I'll think of those clothes I take backpacking afterwards, but I do imagine they will be trashed at the final destination.

Today we stalked Leonardo DiCaprio. While in the British Museum, some of the students came up to us and told us that Leo was walking around with his mom and grandma. We took a full description and set out on a hunt. It failed however, yet several of the students did indeed spot him. Ahh, London.

Ok, so here is the screen cap from yesterday. We were actually in the lower left corner, my bad. You can barely make out the Canadian flag, so obviously can't see individuals. Now I can say my flag has been in Trafalgar Square.

Heading into London today for a walking tour of Trafalgar Square. I have already walked all aorund Trafalgar Square but the prof who is doing the trip is very funny so I will be sure to learn lots as he'll have my undivided attention. While we're there today, at aproximately 3:30pm (GMT), we're going to hold up a Canadian flag in order for friends and family at home to see us on this live webcam. So if anyone back home is up around 10:30am, then check it out - although I don't know where we'll be standing.

Tonight was the first night of the Herstmonceux Dodgeball Asociation of Herstmonceux (HDAH). Our team is comprised of the 3 other SLCs and Simon (the brit aka SAC). We're called Francesca's Frutinas. Francesca is our boss and Frutina is the new slush drink that has come to the castle. It has cups with odd fruits on them that look like super heros. So that's who we are, and we have a website. We dress like the fruits, which means we wear black shirts with a big red F on it and we have turned the cups into fisticuffs of fury! Despite being the best dressed team, we did lose rather stuningly. Dodgeball is one dangerous sport.
