Argh, I want MSN at work - or at least the freedom to go to whatever chat website I feel like without being caught.

Back to the loo I go. After almost 5 weeks at home, I'm not ready to go back. In past years I have always been anxious to get back and that's after only being at home for like a week at a time. Not sure if it's because these 5 weeks have been wonderful (swimming, tanning, relaxing, seeing old friends) or if because I'm not looking forward to this next term. Although it's my last, it's going to feel very different in Waterloo. However, I have come to realize that every 4 months is usually nothing like the last 4 months due to different people and different scenarios. I'm not even in co-op yet my life still works around this 4 month basis.

Last night was indeed good fun at super cheap midnight madness at the Ex. It was crazy busy for the first little while but despite the length of the lines, they moved quick (perhaps because the carnies don't bother checking your safety restraints.) I could barely handle all the hooched up folks, yes it is important to look nice when you are going out but being hoochified is not necessary. Hannah Sung was a few people behind us in line at one point but apparently I was the only one who found this interesting. She seemed bigger in real life, as opposed to how most TV people seem smaller in real life.
We made it home for 5am, and I got 5 hours of sleep before being woken up to pack in order for my grandparents to have my bedroom for tonight. It's quite sad to have this great vacation come to an end. I will hopefully soon be a millionaire and be able to return to this way of life.

Watching these MTV Video Music Awards, and waiting for Jun from BB4 to make her appearance, I thought why are they called Video Music Awards? Aren’t they Music Videos? It’s definitely a toss-up between the awards and some US Open tennis action. I missed most of Madonna’s opening number though – heard it was some fun. Well I am sure I will catch it when it’s replayed like 500 times on MuchMusic.
About to head out to Midnight Madness at the CNE. Only $12 and you get in and unlimited rides from 11pm to 3am. Going to be a long night but hopefully highly enjoyable.
Today I talked again with Toque Boy. He is very interesting and amusing to talk with. No plans for anything but I am to give him a call net time we head out in Toronto. Then there was Housemate Chris, we chatted about getting excited for this living arrangement in the fall, definitely good times! Finally Janna. I talked to her and we began to get caught up about our summers, she promised to visit me at work next week – thank goodness because I fear there won’t be any internet there and working 10 hours (till 2am) each night may cause the loss of my sanity, especially considering my current lifestyle.

Yesterday was Wonderland goodness. Ryanne had some free tickets so she invited Michelle and I to go along. We hit up Splashworks first, where I demonstrated how much giving yourself a push off on the way down a waterslide really helps. There were lines everywhere despite the lack of sun and the increasing winds. Little kids dont seem too afraid of big people it seems now a day as they had no problem hitting you as they swam by in the wave pool.
After Splashworks closed up we headed to the newer rides that we had never been on. Despite these weren't roller coasters, they were still lots of fun (and had much shorter line ups than your typical coaster). I am very sad though as you have to have a child accompany you in order to go in the Scooby Doo Haunted House, that is unfortunate. I found rides involving heights to be ten times scarier at night, or else I have just become afraid of heights.
Overall, it was another great enjoyable day. I have really lucked out with this time in Uxbridge. It all comes to an end Saturday however - heading back then to Waterloo as I have had some major shifts offered to me at work and it looks like I may make engough money this first week to pay for September rent already. Huge bonus! But I still will need/want another part time job.

Why is it some people find comfort in things from their past? I do enjoy reflecting back in days of old, it is part good times part bad times. However, that is not quite what I am talking about. Why is that things we did in our past bring us such a sense of comfort in the present. I am reflecting on this because I have rediscovered some old favourite things of mine and have been indulging in them for the past week. My two main indulgences are Alanis Morisette's "Jagged Little Pill" CD and Weezer's blue CD. They just help to make my summer feel like it should - being at home and not working for this extended period of time has also contributed to that I'm sure. I really am in need of the orginal season of Survivor, and some Murder She Wrote reruns. I am going to get all preachy now and encourage all of you to go back and find some music you remember rocking out to in those warm golden summers and rock out to them again.

Yesterday I partook in a scavenger hunt in downtown Toronto. It was arranged by this fun couple, Karen & Fab(rico). We had to stay within a designated area while we solved riddles by looking for the answers around town as well as find some classic scavenger hunt items. It was so much fun, well planned, and the prize ended up being $185 for the winning team (each person had to pay $5 to play). Out of 10 teams, my team came 3rd. Very impressive. The main thing that matters is we beat anyone else we knew there and I learnt I can drink a pint in about 8 seconds if need be.
Afterwards, I went out for dinner with Rahim and then we headed to Ericas for predrinking. Ryan came too, as did Aaron and his friend Mandi and a few other girls. After sufficient drinks in our bellies, we headed out for another night of dancing at Buddy's. Rahim was on the search for a random make-out boy and that somehow led to a contest/bet started by Mandi to see which of us boys would make-out with someone first. Ryan and Rahim sort of "won", as they decided to would make out with each other. I, on the other hand was diligently stalking my target, a cute blond with a white golf shirt. So once I make it closer to my target, he comes up to me and says "Adam, right?" It took me awhile but I then clued into who this boy was....he was in fact my toque/sunglass wearing dancing partner from last Saturday! I didn't recognize him without the toque and sunglasses, and plus he wasn't dancing on stage. We quickly changed that and danced it up. We had a little bit of an audience though, Erica, Lauren, and Caroline were watching us like hawks. At one point, they just stood staring on the dance floor. They also decided to clap once Myron and I got a kiss in. I won.
Highlights of the night: Chilling on Ericas roof. Housemate Chris showing up and some fun dancing with him and Rahim. NOT seeing Sarah Polley. Ryan falling on top of Lauren onto the floor (scary highlight). Erica's fun dance move where she grabs my pants and pulls me to her. Random people saying random single words to me, like "congratulations" and "balding." Sleeping on the floor at the edge of Aaron and Mandi's bed.
My most missed element of the night, was not having someone to make fun of drinking bad crappy beer with. Last week Japan Chris and I got clever with our beer drinking, we didn't want anyone to know we were drinking beer, so we thought if we hid the labels, no one would be any wiser. We were such clever kids.

The first bout of boredom has hit today. It's causing me to be very thoughtful into my current state of affairs. I have been trying to figure out if I want to be in a relationship right now or not. I am 99.9% sure that I am heading out of Ontario in January, so it's not like a relationship would be long term for me. I do like the idea of someone in my life who would be a constant though over these months. I also like my own independence. Lots of people worry about being lonely for the rest of their lives, I used to have the same worry but haven't lately. I'm only 23, I'm having fun with my life and really enjoying it. I have plenty of time to worry about being lonely (that is, while looking for the one) but that time isn't now. What am I saying? Does it sound like I want a relationship or not? I am happy as is, so why not just carry on with things as they are? Because I have carried on with things as they are for awhile now, I like change. I still don't know what I'm saying. I am sure I will figure it out when the time is right.

I've become a bit blog bored lately. I just find what I post about is so mundane and boring. The majority of the people who read my blog, are up to date with what is happening in my life anyway. And really right now, I don't have much happening in my life. Here is a day in the life of Adam
9 - 10 am Wake up, eat breakfast, open the pool up
10 - 11 am Watch some random tv
11 - noon Get prepared to go tanning, check on the pool, clean it if necessary, do some general house tidy up
Noon - Watch the Weakest Link (old school with Anne) and enjoy a tuna sandwich
1 - Sneak on the computer breifly to check my email while mom has her lunch
2 - Lay out in the sun, maybe do some reading, sometimes I have a guest or two for tanning/swimming
3 - get in the pool, do my laps, swim about
4 - Get cleaned up with a shower, apply some moisturizers to my supple skin, relax
5 - dinner.
7 - get my reality tv shows watched
10 ish - check out net happenings
midnight - bedtime
WAHOOOOOOOO!

Crapnadian Idol is wearing thin on me. No one really impresses me like American Idol did. For Love or Money has all the right twists and turns though to keep me hooked. My million dollars is that Paige is next weeks surprise visitor. I am very impressed with the producers of this show, and one of them happens to be famous kids game show host JD Roth. He's also producing and hosting kid's survivor rip-off Endurance.
In my own reality, my lounging by the pool continues. My red from Thurs/Fri has turned into brown. I finished my pleasure book, turns out I had indeed previously read it (ridiculous). I also re-watched all 3 parts of Stephen King's "Storm of the Century" mini-series thinking I never got to see it all, but I most definately had. Next time I think I am good at predicting something, it's definately because I already knew the outcome.
I also may be returning to Buddys on Saturday, anyone care to join me?

Ahhh, Buddy's. Good times, major fun times. I headed to Toronto via the GO bus and walked to Erica's for pre-drinking and chit chat times. Then the boys (Michael, Joel, and David) arrived and whisked me away to what is fast becoming my favourite bar. (Just have to be careful not to overdo it) I met Kalen, Aaron's future roomate. She is fun, I can see her and Aaron getting along just fine. I tried to outdance some crazy boy in a toque, but we ended up just dancing together and thinking we were the best dancers there (did I mention I was very drunk). The night flew by, and before I knew it I was headed "home" to Waterloo with Ryan. Luckily, he was kind engough to stop on McDonalds for post-drinking food. Yummy Nugets. So I ended up getting a mesly 5 hours of sleep in my bed in Waterloo, then Krista picked me up and we drove back to Uxbridge. GTFT.

Sandra and I headed down to Toronto yesterday afternoon to visit with her sister. Basically, we got out of Uxbridge, which felt so amazing and relaxing. We didn't do much, just a bit of walking around and dinner but it was just what was needed. We may make a weekly tradition out of it on Tuesdays. Whenever I go to the city, it just reiterates I want to live in the city more. I really need to buckle down and figure out what kind of career I want to persue.
I have far too much to say about reality tv happenings, so here's my Coles notes about those I am watching this summer.
Canadian Idol - eeee. Not as enjoyable as American Idol.
For Love or Money 2 (aka The Erin Show) - Erin again shows how great she is, with her comment about Rob's return "What is he thinking?"
Big Brother - Alison sucks ass. Nathan is a closet case. Erika and Jack should get Jun on their side.
Cupid - As much as Robert would make a bad pair for Lisa, I want him to stick around past the other guys without a chance because he adds such humor. I love Laura's comments about him. "Because you luv her" The combination of Laura and Robert had me laughing out loud last night. They should hook up.

I am sure you all must be thinking "Geez, Adam didn't update over the weekend, that must mean he had a damn good rockin' weekend!" No, of course not, who am I kidding? Friday night I attempted to do some last minute studying for my distance ed final but I just had my fill of it. So I called it an early night and entered dream world (which for me is always entertaining).
Wrote my final early Saturday morning in Oshawa, it was fine. I think I did well but I know some people who took this course last summer and they thought they did well on the exam but really bombed it. We'll see, either way I am fairly confident my average is on the upswing. That afternoon I was stung by my second wasp since being home in Uxbridge. My dad unsucessfuly tried to kill the bees after my first run-in, but unfortunately he used ant killer, so the wasps are still around.
Saturday night, I "celebrated" and went to one of the few Uxbridge pubs with my friend Amy for a few drinks. I learnt that Amy is ridicously competitive, somehow she managed a bathroom break in 1min 15sec, all to beat my time of 1min 30sec (which involved secret running and no hand washing).
Finally Sunday gave me some sun and thus fun by the pool. I have taken up pleasure reading again but it's just your general run-of-the-mill-best-selling-you-can-predict-the-ending type of book. I keep saying I'll read Harry Potter or something worthwile but that has yet to happen.

We are taking care of my mom's friends golden retrevier for 10 days. He happens to be the brother of our golden so they get along fine. The thing with golden retreivers (well the males at least) is that they are extremly friendly and a real people dog. They just love when people arrive at the house. Now, they express their excitement by barking! They don't get this is meant to scare away intruders, not to welcome people. The barking isn't usually that bad when we just have our dog here but with the two of them combined, they bark at the smallest thing. And they are almsot trying to out do each other. Sometimes they start barking at nothing, no one coming down the driveway. Grrrr. It's really quite annoying. I have had a headache for the past 3 days now, not sure if it's attributable to them or not, we will see if I am headache free once brother dog leaves. ANNND, my parents are going to get another golden for themselves in September. Phew, I'll be gone by then.

I am not a fan at all of the Canadian Idol judges. They don't really offer any insight for the competitors. Last night when asked what they thought about the 4 lowest vote-getters, they had nothing to say. It makes no sense to me, Jake previously had said Candida was great and he wasn't worried about her. Yet, when she is now in the bottom four, you have nothing to say like "I'm surprised Candida is there, she is great and doesn't belong there." All they say is "Well I think these competitiors know why they are there." I don't think all of them do, you all praised Karen-Lee so basically what you are saying is "You know you are there because Canada doesn't like you." Blaahhh. I am basically just irriatated that Karen-Lee is gone. She's probably the only girl there who can mix up the styles (melodies and rock/pop songs). I will be very surprised if we ever hear Toya or Audrey sing anything but melodies. And good thing Candida is gone, because all she would have sang would be diva songs (Whitney, Mariah, Celine, etc). Surprised Richie went because I thought Canada liked to keep the weirdos around.

Back from Ottawa. This was my first real time to Ottawa. The drive there took an extra 2 hours due to an accident and all that comes with an accident. I hate crappy traffic with a passion. Arrived in Ottawa and Andréa gave us a quick tour of the local area (the market, parliament hill, the canal) Then we gorged ourselves on Fudgeos and chips while we pre-drank on their kick ass stoop/patio. We eventually took our drunk asses to The Heart and Crown. It was awesome, nice and big, a fun band that played things from Eminem to David Gray! Plenty of patios in the same bar too. Our waiter was fun and played with us, which includes patting down a wet Krista, rubbing my head, allowing Andréa to steal his aviators and more. Jess and Mike came out too as did Anne. It was enjoyable to see these kids. Some Uxbridge kids showed up later. None of them I really knew but they were more there to see Krista and Jessica.
The following day, Andréa and I did a tour of Parliament. We had this one group of people in our tour group that kept asking questions related to how much work the MP's did! I learnt the building burnt down in 1912! Hahaha, I know little about Canadian history. We then joined Krista and Jessica and found Krista's roomate Noami spouting off information about our Governor-General. We arranged to go for dinner with Noami later on. Off we went across the bridge to K-beck and the Museum of Civilizaltion, where we saw bog people from thousands of years ago. By now, we were all tired and our feet ached. Back home for rest then back out for dinner. Since dinner took forever, as soon as we got back home, we pre-drank right away (Anne joined us again). We checked out the gay bar, along with Krista's cousin and her straight roomate. it was dead there, apparently because it was Montreal Pride. It was a drag show too, so we didn't get much dancing of our own in. Andréa tried her best to hook me up with an Austrlian named Alex. He was definately fun and enjoyable but was rather distraught as his boyfriend ended up going home with someone else. Silly Australian, didn't he realize he should have gotten even? :P We ended up making good friends with Alfredo, our bartender. We got some free shots with him. We stayed right until they locked the bar up and went for breakfast (at a Mel's wannabe diner) with Alfredo, some other bartenders, a scary older guy, and a drag queen. RANDOM. But we all recall that random = good and sketchy = bad. We eventually made it home to get a few hours of sleep. It was then back to Uxbridge. Traffic on the way home was pretty decent, had to deal with cottage country/long weekend travellers but it wasn't too bad.
That my freinds was Ottawa.
I have added a few new bloggers to my links section. I usually like to add blogs that I know will last and give you something to read. But these are fun people I do enjoy, so I might as well add them.

Last night, went to The Roost (a hybrid of Swiss Chalet) with Jess, Krista, and Kristin. It was good to hang out with the girls again. Definately looking forward to more of it this summer. We went crazy though when we moved in from the patio (due to mosquitos) as inside was freakin' freezing! Also inside, by about 10pm, it started to fill up with some younger Uxbridge kids who we recognized from high school (including Krisitn's brother). It wasn't as interesting as running into people who we actually knew, (I am all about that this summer), but it was interesting nonetheless. The oddest part was they're now of age and were ordering drinks! That aged us pretty quickly.
In about 20 minutes, I'll be leaving for Ottawa with Jess and Krista. It's my first real time going so I'll hopefully be doing all the major touristy things. Andréa lives right around the corner from the market, so apparently that is good news when we go out drinking. I do think this car ride may kill me though. I used to be able to handle 3 hour car rides (to Kingston) but haven't done that in forever so I have grown accustomed to the quick 2 hours to Waterloo. Luckily, we'll be taking turns driving so that should spice things up.
Ahhh, it is good to be home.
