In other news, when I got on the scale to find the offical results of my mono-like illness that prevented me from eating for almost an entire week, the scale told me I was missing 10 lbs. Eeeee. Whenever I gain or lose anything over 5 lbs, I am always baffled because my weight barely ever changes. Well this is part of my freshmen 15 that has come off finally I can say. The plan is to definately put some of the weight back on, which shouldn't be too hard while at home, but at the same time trying to keep the body toned (and tanned).

So within being home for less than half an hour yesterday, I was stung by a wasp. The last time I remember getting stung was way back when I was like 7 and my lower lip was stung (that's why it's so big you know!)
This morning I was awoke very early by my sister as she prepared to go to the big concert at Downsview. There was a debate between her and my mom over catching the 6:45 or 7:15 am train to Toronto. But this dabate was at 6:15am. Sheesh, can't a guy relax on his vacation.

That was super easy packing. I basically just packed up all my clothes, since it is going to be 6 weeks! I also packed some additional dressy clothes in case I get any interviews or for emergencies. My plan is to spend the weekdays by the pool or in the pool and weekends are meant for getting out of town.
Maybe Ottawa this weekend and maybe Sandra's cottage for a few days next week. As well, I'm hopefully going to host a pool party, so mark August 9th off your calendar!

I think my brain is rebelling against me. I haven't been up this late in a long while. As well, I consumed coke (which I have avoided for awhile) and lots of chocolate and lots of food period as my apetite is back with a vegenance. So now my brain is rebelling and putting me in one hell of a crappy little mood. I am frustrated with many a thing and just really want to be hanging out by the pool in Uxbridge. I am feeling the need for an escape and that is exactly what Uxbridge shall provide. Funny that I would ever see my ole hometown as an escape, as for many years it felt like a prision.

Today was spent doing tours of UW Place for Student Life 101 day. Wow. Crazy busy! So many people, and mainly parents, had to explore every square inch of the rooms to get a feel for them. It was too ridiculous. And so the tours took forever because people were refusing to leave the rooms, so by the time you got back down to the tour epicentre, there was about 25 more people waiting for you to take them on their tour. The number one question "is there air conditioning?" "umm....this is residence, these kids are lucky with what they've got." There were some nice families that were estatic with the living conditions. We do have pretty nice residences compared to others, in my opinion.
It was definately weird to be close to 5 years older than many of the incoming students. There is a definiate observable difference in the ways these kids expect to be treated compared to what we expected coming in first year. I think I expected one hellish expeirence, having to share a room! Them my observations for today.

This makes no sense. I am finding myself healthier yet MORE tired after being told I don't have mono. I figure though the sleep is still needed in order to repair the ole bod.
Classes are almost over for the term. Wow. I am on the brink of pulling off an overall 80% this term (which I need to up my overall average back into honours range). It feels weird to have worked a bit harder at school, even though I still haven't worked to my max potential.
Ohhhh- some perfect timing thanks to winamp has brought on David Gray and "Say Hello Wave Goodbye." Great tune.

So I went in for the results of my blood test day, to confirm/deny that I have mono. Sit myself down in Dr Stecco's little office and he casually tells me I DO NOT HAVE MONO. Yippy! It's some type of bacterial infection so I get a prescription for antibiotices and off I leave. I was giving Dr. Stecco the benefit of the doubt, but I really shouldn't have and should have listened to all my friends who had good (well good bad) stories about him. I really should have paid more attention to Matt's piece of evidence, having been told mono several times but the tests always negative.
Anyhow though, now that the whole world has heard I have mono- it's just not true. Please pass this info along. Adam will be safe to kiss in 10 days. And good to party and have fun with too!

Oh why is no one else up yet? I am eagerly awaiting to hear stories about what better have been one crazy shennigan night of fun. I hope I am better by the end of the summer so I can get some hardy partying in. If not, I suppose I will have to live vicariously through the lives of everyone else.

So I booked an appointment with Health Services yesterday for today and was a little concerned I would wake up feeling fine. However, I did not. So off I went (at a very slow pace) to see Dr. Stecho. He listened to my symptoms, checked out a few things and then told me that I have mono. Argh. The most mysterious sickness. I have only heard nothing but horror stories of people having mono forever, please I hope I have it for a week that's it.

Today I definately hate the sick stage more than the pre-sick stage. Holy crap. So during class today I got freezing cold, then on the way home my teeth started chattering. When I made it home, I bundled myself up and crawled into bed for close to 3 hours. Luckily I got an email from my prof tomorrow saying I can take an extra day to get the essay done that was due tomorrow. She's so nice.
Unfortunately I had to bail on getting together with my 330 group for fun, and pizza tonight. Good thing I did because at the time I was set to arrive there, I was instead wrapped around a toilet. Time for bed.
Time for me to be a whinny baby again; I have the symptoms that I am about to be sick, probably a sore throat again because that tends to be my bodys sickness of choice. It's fun to be older because you can identify how your body is doing after having lived with it for so many years. Sometimes I hate the pre-sick stage more than the actual sick stage.

I want a cell phone, but not for using as a phone. I want the address book! I need some sort of electronic organizer that is small so I can keep it with me at all times and have access to phone numbers. I dont want to spend $$$ on a palm pilot or anything like that mind you.
My current system is I call my house and get someone to conuslt with my master list of phone numbers. This doesn't work too well.

Cutie pie Jason Mraz is going to be playing at the Guverment on August 28. Anyone interested in going? This is very advanced warning for those who like to have spontaneous summer fun.

So my dilemna that needs a solution is: what should I do once classes are over? I have 6 weeks of free time, well other than one distance ed exam on August 9. I have debated about going home to Uxbridge to kick back by the pool, and to save money (on groceries and less drinking). But I don't know how well I can handle 6 weeks at home. Not that it would be that bad but I know on weekends I will be wanting to escape on fun adventures with other people. Yet if I stay in Waterloo without a job, I will go crazy, broke, and fat. However, I need a decent job in Waterloo that will afford me the luxury of staying here. And preferably Mon-Fri so I can indeed have my weekends off for fun.

I really dont want to go to class (criminal profiling) today. We learn somewhat intresting stuff but are never going to be tested on it, our mark is based 90% on group work and because we have a kick ass group there are no worries. Alas I will go as I enjoy the people in the class, and those who I detest I still enjoy listening to them so I have somebody to berate later. I hope at least my group is there (but I fear not) or else I won't know what to do with myself.
In other news, I still haven't worked out since I killed my arms (which are almost back to feeing normal). Sharon and I are falling behind on our summer of Six Feet Under. I need a job for 6 weeks starting July 29 or else I have no clue what I will do with myself. Yucky - this problem is so gross and I keep avoiding it, I need to figure it out soon. I'll blog about it tomorrow to explain.

Wow. I definately think For Love or Money takes the cake as having the best twists on a reality tv show. They are the best twists because they make sense to occur, yet you still don't see them coming. Before watching tonights episode, I told myself the best possible outcome would be Rob picking Erin but then her picking the million dollars. But I was wrong, the best possible outcome was the above plus allowing Erin a second chance to find love.
For those of you lagging on what the twist was...after Rob made his selection (which I say was highly influenced by the producers to get the outcome they wanted), Erin sat with her million dollar cheque as we watched the full moon rise. Then 3 WEEKS LATER, a limo pulls up to the house and Erin has returned. She goes to the secret room where she is offered another chance to decide between love or money. The idiotic host offers that if she burns her cheque, they will bring 15 eligible bachelors into the house who will compete for her love and a million dollars. That is right, exact same scenario! They will have no idea of what Erin has already gone through but she will know everything. Ultimately if the man she selects also chooses her (over the money) then she will win him and TWO MILLION! But HELLO...what guy isn't going to pick her - she is great! I think she could turn me straight and Sharon lesbian.

I love discovering new things, be it people, music, ideas, toys, etc. Something so exciting about the discovery and seeing where things will go with the new thing. My current novelities include the music of Jack Johnson. But I have not forget about my cutie Jason Mraz.

I worked out for the first time on Friday in what has been ages. It felt great...at the time. I awoke Saturday morning to have my left bicep just killing me. I literally thought I had somehow broken my muscle. Now this morning, my right bicep has joined the club and both arms are out of commission. I can barely do anything. For those of you who know how I like to whine, be grateful you're not around me today.

So I updated the list of blogs I read, as most other people have been doing the same so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon as we know that's what I like to do. But for some reason, Joel's refuses to show up! (edited to add: it wont even work here!) I will keep trying though Jolie. I also thought I'd do a quick run down of the connections to people listed.
Aaron is an ex.
Andrea lived with me on North A back in first year. Now she is in London on a work term.
Caitlin is like best friends with David.
David is Joel's boy. Met him cause he's a gay boy in psych.
Dustin is a don at Guelph, met him thorugh Nic's blog and through Michael.
Joel is David's boy. Met him cause he's dating a gay boy in psych.
Mark's last name is Schaan. Don't we all know who Mark is? Mark and I donned one year together.
Matt's last name is Goyer. Don't all bloggers conenct to him somehow? I know him through Nat.
Michael I met through Aaron. I think they liked to kiss while Aaron and I were broken up for the 2nd time.
Ming hung out with us North A kids.
Nat was another North A girl. She's in Seattle on a work term. She's dating Matt.
Nic is my best friend. He doesn't update the blog too much. We're hoping he survives this summer in Sarnia.
Ryan is a guy I went on a date with and he's randomly connected in a few ways.
Zal is a co-worker of David's who has lots of pop culture knowledge. I have only met him twice and he forgets one of the times.

Sunday
Headed to breakfast with Cat, Nic, Bob, and Chirs. We did the traditional at California Cafe (well traditonal for Nic and I). Then zipped back to the hotel to grab sunscreen cause indeed the clouds were clearing once again for the parade. Then we headed to our favourite corner where our favourite man and woman are (the jury is still out on if they're a couple or if they're gay.) This year, woman was looking as sexy as ever with a bright orange wig and an indian headress. The judges also happened to be at this corner which promised good times. We had a few peeps join us, Alyssa, Aaron, Adrian, Jackie, Dan and Kristina. The parade was 10 times more effecient this year, however it lacked the usual number of hotties on the floats. Actually the floats themselves were all kind of drab this year. Then the group split up to do various tasks along the now crazy filled Church St. I ran into a guy from one of my psych classes, more evidence that all guys in psychology are gay. Basically ate minor food, grabbed some beer and headed back to hotel room to put the beer on ice and order pizza. Then we had the arrival of Mama - the girl knows every fag around, sheesh. The party then began when we headed down to another room in the hotel for pre-drinking fun with a mix matched group of peeps. The party moved to Buddies at a time that guaranteed we'd make it in! Yahoo! Spice Girls greeted us. Tatoos were applied using tongues. People disappeared and then reappeared. Boys competed to make out with Mama. Kisses were stolen. Gay pizza was consumed. Fake cab rides were taken. Beating sticks were broken. And assumptions of sexual encounters were assumed. I wish I had my video camera.
Monday
Said goodbye to the bestest roomate ever. Got the phone number for like the 50th time from a certain boy. Drove home with Cat as we remembered the weekend.

Saturday
Kate and I awoke to go for breakfast and shopping. My only purchase of the weekend: Reservoir Dogs Special Ed. DVD (for only $15, down from $38). We also bought band-aids to reapair our feet. Then I checked into the hotel and was escatic when I saw the room! Thank-you SARS. I may or may not have jumped around on the beds by myself for a good 5 minutes. Finally I got to see Nic! That crazy kid - how good it was to see him again and that he was alive. We wandered around the street and met with various friends, had a few drinks in a beer garden. Then it was time for dinner and then before we knew it, pre-drinking time had arrived. Bob, Rob and Chris joined us and Catherine and her straight friend for drinks in the hotel room. Too bad we screwed up and went too late to Buddies, there was no way we were getting in (where Chris Cop, Dave, Joel + co were) So instead we went to a beer garden that was still open and drank and got lime on our faces. We also made friends with some older lesbians. Then back to Buddies before last call and some amazing tunes to dance to. It was soooo hot there though, I was almost tempted to lose my shirt. Buddies is definately one of my new favourite bars. The music they play is great, you want to dance to everything! Some of the group deciced we wanted to keep drinking so we went to Woody's (which had extended bar hours) but we ended up not drinking and not really dancing. Bob and Chris came back to the hotel room so we could check on Sleepy Nic and watch a random show about Viagara and dildos before they braved the walk home. End of Saturday. But it was Sunday that was the total day of random and lots of fun.
Pride weekend was great this year. It had a different feel to it for me this year compared to previous years but it was still equally as great. My weekend was a tad random as there was no one person I stayed with for the whole weekend, although Nic and I did split a cheap SARS room. I have learnt though that random = good and sketchy = bad. There is a difference afterall.
Friday
I headed to Toronto for lunch at a Mexican fast food place with Amy and Rahim and got caught up. As I left them I ran into an old former frosh leader, smack dab in the middle of the financial distract, who I usually only get the pleasure of seeing while drunk at Bomber. We learnt that we were both going to Erica's party that night. I headed uptown to drop my bags off at Kate's and to get caught up with her. Then to the village for Starbucks with my favourite online random friend. We chatted and parted ways. Back on the Subway in order to go uptown again but on the west side to see PK. Luckily for her, I didn't have to berate her this time. For some reason, she has this ability to make a comment about my appearance that really sticks with me. Probably because she sees me so spradically, she notices the subtle differences. According to her, I have lost some weight (and the scale in Uxbridge says I did indeed finally lose those pounds put on from the caf this year) She also noticed a new scar on the back of my head - well it was more of a massive scratch that was bleeding and I was clueless where it came from. Meh. Departing PK, it was off to the party. I arrived to meet some new faces and only knew Erica for the first little while. We drank it up on her rooftop patio and slowly faces I knew began to arrive. It was a great random group of kids, all the boys were gay, all the girls were straight. Finally, from there we deaprted to Woody's and I got to see Dave, Joel, Caitlin and Stacie. My time there was brief however, and probably for the better, and I was whisked away back to Kates for an attempted night of sleep that really was about watching her kitten run around in circles.
