I WAS EGG'ED LAST NIGHT! It happened in mere seconds. All of a sudden I feel like my ass is slapped by someone and then my foot feels wet and a car is driving by laughing. I am so confused at this point. Then I realize what has happened. I report to the other people the situation and they're all very nice about it. Luckily I had a few drinks in me, so I took it pretty well - my pants and sandals were so dirty anyway they needed a wash.

Lack of posts due to lots of busy stuff! Now I am currently in Kingston attending Queen's University Don's training, although it looks like we'll get to do more shopping than training (as alot of the sessions don't pertain to us).
Will hopefully be able to make a few trips to the internet during down time - I need to read about peoples lives!

My ticket to England arrived in the mail today. Even looking at the ticket I still find it hard to believe I will soon be leaving. I think it will only hit once I am actually on the plane taking off. And then, when it hits, I worry I may be an emotional basketcase and not the best person to be sitting beside on a 7-hour flight. Luckily I have a window seat, so that means only 1 neighbour!

All week I have been anxious to get to my 400th post so I could celebrate it but the # of posts counter on my "dashboard" seems to have stalled at 398. So now I have no idea which of my posts this week was actually the 400th. And yes, I am back in Uxbridge for the week.

Shandy and I scored (free) tickets to go "meet" Survivor winners Ethan and Jenna. It was some publicity for the clothing boutique "Just Between Us" by Kitchener City Hall. Apparently the owner just sent them a letter asking their presence for the opening of the store and they agreed. Yeah...right. Anyhow, even though we only got our tickets at the last minute, we were still half way up in the queue. They give everyone numbered tickets and you "meet" the Survivors in that order. Basically our "meeting" was us just snapping photos from 5 feet away and then getting their autographs and us saying "hello" and "thanks."
There were some definite crazy's in the line. Lots of little kids. A very odd piece of publicity for a high-end clothing store. Like these 11 year-olds are going to come back and buy a pair of $230 sch-pants. I think next time I want a Survivor to attend an event, I will just send them a letter and cross my fingers. Photos will come soon.

Phils last night, although dead, was still a good time. We sat around and got good value of our $1.75 drinks. I didn't make it home until 3:30 and then was promptly awoken at 7:30am by a phone call from my mother. So much for going in late to work. Really though it was a good idea to put in a full day as there was much to wrap up on my final day, including a social lunch and cake! Now comes the fun of packing. This is just round 1 of packing, will still need to pack once I am back in Uxbridge for England - which is now under 3 weeks away.

What a terrific dinner. Went to the farm of Bud Walker with the res. life team, where we dined out in his backyard. It was very enjoyable, good food as always. There was also good-bye chats for Victoria and I. Pam said some nice words about me and I was quite flattered. I am really going to miss working with her. I was presented with a nice UW clock piece for my desk, but alas I will leave it in Canada and wait until I have an office on my own soil before pulling it out and looking all offical - along with my UW degree framed. I feel grown up. But now I am going to Phils to digress one last time.

Went out for patio drinks at Barley Works with Mel, Kevin, Jon, Robin and the newest 24-year old, Andrea. Was a nice relaxing summer night, despite the fact I was freezing in my short pants. We were privelleged engough to sit in the VIP area (and be the only ones sitting there) however we were not privelleged engough to always have our beer served in a pitcher - our final one was served in a jar. We've also made plans to make a trip to Phils on Thursday. Throwback!

Of all the many things I need to do before I leave, one of them is NOT spending as much time as I am working out my mp3's. Granted I do want to bring my music along but for the last week I have spent at least 1.5 hrs (maximum of 3 however) figuring out my music situation. I'm basically just copying all my mp3s onto CD's and have invested in a walkman that plays mp3s. But this also means crafting the CD's so the music on them makes sense (i.e. I won't be putting my Jason Mraz with the Spicegirls). Once this task is complete I will focus on buying my travel health insurance.

After watching The Village last night with Johnny, I think I am going to have to give up on M. Night Shyamalan's movies. He's a good director, definately had all the artistic moments done well and it was well shot - but it's his writing that just isn't working. Always trying to have a twist at the end is not needed. I was left with many questions at the end that just made no sense and were very far-fetched.

Everyone welcome Jessica to the blogging world. She is getting set to travel to Africa for 6 months. She is one cool chic. Definately not the most typical looking white girl I know. Silly Joyce.

Ottawa/Montreal weekend in recap:
Friday night after my posting, Dre, Jess, Anne and I went out to the market where we drank at various locales before ending up at Fat Tuesdays and the dueling pianos. While there, we found an empty photo frame and had a great time making our own artwork. (Jess has the photos done at the bar - much better ones) We finally made it home and decided we really should drink a bottle of champagne. Unfortunately, Anne and Jess passed out by the time the cork was popped.
After recovering Saturday morning, Anne drove myself, Dre and Dre's roomie Amanada to Montreal where we met Rahim and checked into our sleazy motel/hotel/hostel. I can't even begin to explain this place but will say we clearly heard a couple having sex at 4pm. We later saw the couple in the evening - not sure how they managed to have sex in the light of day. I vote hooker.
Saturday night we headed to Unity, where I was amazed by the giant rooftop patio - it was very cool. We spent most of our time in one of the couch rooms before heading to another crazy 3-floor bar (sports bar mind you that was filled with lesbians). I was very drunk. I managed to eat a poutine the same size as one that Dre and Amanda couldn't finish. That is saying something.
Sunday we checked out the parade, (only starting 1.5 hours late). I was in much less cranky mood than for the Toronto parade so I enjoyed it tremendously more. It was also cool because we were able to sit right on the curb and watch from a sitting position. Sunday evening, back in Ottawa, Dre and I went back to the market and saw the Eric Eggleston Band, a throwback to last summer. They were good but not as fun as I recall - but cuter.
Monday was spent relaxing in Anne's pool before a trek home that included a plane, a train, and two buses. It was well worth it though!
Pictures from the weekend can be found here.
