Finding Edwin should be easier in this one. He has stopped moving though in preparation for the holiday break.

I know Christmas and the holiday season is not necessarily happy times for everyone but do we need Christmas songs to be depressing in order for us to be reminded of that fact? The current offenders are as follows:

The Christmas Shoes (title)
Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight

God Bless The Child (by Shania Twain)
God bless the young without mothers
This child is homeless,
That child's on crack
One plays with a gun,
while the other takes a bullet in his back
This boy's a beggar,
That girl sells her soul
They both work the same street,
The same hell hole
Hallelujah, hallelujah,
God bless the child who suffers
Some are born addicted and some are just thrown away
Some have daddies who make them play games they don't want to play

My Humps (by Blacked Eyed Peas)
What you gon’ do with all that junk?
All that junk inside your trunk?
I’ma get, get, get, get, you drunk,
Get you love drunk off my hump.
My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump,
My hump, my hump, my hump, my lovely little lumps. (Check it out)

This is Boo. I took care of her for a week to try and determine if a pet could possibly fit into my lifestyle. Somehow though this cat was more a dog. She required constant love and was really cute but ultimately I couldn't keep up with her demands and then Kris tried to care for her for a week but also found the same. We then called the Humane Society to come collect her - we orginally got her from some students who found her around Halloween, hence the name BOO! Test driving kids is definately a way to do it. Perhaps I should try a guinea pig though first.

I made the mistake of going to Walmart in Mississauga on a Sunday during the Christmas season. It was not pleasant. After realizing I really did need a shopping cart I navigated through all the people and their children to the front of the store to only find there were no more carts! So I hid my items and went back to the parking lot to grab a cart.
I'd like to say it was worth it however as I purchased my first artifical Christmas tree. I would have liked a real tree but living on your own makes it difficult to get a real tree up and maintain it. So this tree will do for now. Decorating it was strangely difficult. Rather, ensuring the lights were evenly distributed was the tricky part. But it's all set-up now and I'm beginning to get into the holiday spirit.

Dear Ms Sarah Harmer,
Your concert on Thursday night was extremly enjoyable. I am very impressed that you left my fave song for last (before the encores) and that you managed to really rock it out. Who knew you could play the drums?
Further, you had a super cute outfit and looked awesome.
Sincerly,

See if you can find Edwin (the ewok). Posted by Picasa

Thursday, December 01, 2005

This is Edwin. Some people claim he's an ewok, I don't know much about Star Wars so you can decide for yourself. He was found in the van we rented when I moved to Mississauga. My mom insisted I keep him in my new office and I thought he was pretty cute so he indeed spent the summer sitting in a special chair in my office - a chair that occupied Shandy and I's old desk at UW.
However, he now moves around my office. Every other Monday he changes locations and people try to spot him. Now that I think I've mastered adding photos to blogs, I'll let you play along too. Tomorrow, I'll show you where he was hiding last week. Posted by Picasa
