Once again I got excited, bragged about it and then it's taken away from me. Colleen is no longer coming up today. Ahh well, Bomber will be good nonetheless.

I am so excited. Colleen, who has been off saving the world since September, is coming to visit in Waterloo! Not only that, but Heather is headed over from Guelph. It'll be a mini-St Rene union of sorts (Me, Colleen, Kristy, Heather, and Haley) Hello Bomber.

Note: if you are applying for a don position and get a personal interview, do not wear jeans to the interview. It's a job interview!
Today is only the first day of interviews, and I have already seen 3 people in jeans. This effectively puts them on the bubble. I knew there'd be trouble when one guy showed up in jogging pants for group interview day.

Oh - how I love when working in a new workplace and once you start to get to know your fellow employees they bring out the question "So Adam, do you have a girlfriend?" Me: "No" Them: "Have we got the girl for you" Me: "Oh, I'm SURE you do."
I always question the best way to handle this scenario but usually opt for not outing myself, as I don't want the other people to feel stupid or catch them off guard - especially when they're older folk. Some people may consider this cowardly and I suppose it is - so maybe I should change the way I handle such situations. Nah - I'll just wait till they do actually try and hook me up with someone and then throw some egg on thier face.

Saw 11'09"01 at the Princess last night. I went by myself for the second time, however this time around there was only about 12 people in the theatre (11 male, 1 female) and 5 of us were there alone!
The movie itself - not at all what I was expecting to see, and I have to say of the 11 "little movies" I only enjoyed 2 or 3. Not a good ratio. I feel asleep during one, so maybe I would have enjoyed it if I actually saw it.
It didn't help that the final movie, from Japan, was about a man who thought he was a snake as a result of fighting in some Japanesse Holy War - only to end with a real snake telling the man "there is no such thing as a Holy War." Umm, yeah. Oh, how I love symbolic meaning.

Although I haven't found this winter to be as bad as last, I am totally craving the spring. Not in the this-weather-sucks-and-it's-making-me-depressed kind of way but rather because much better good times fun times happen in the spring and summer.

Wow. Dinner was a great success. I am totally going to try real cooking on a more regular basis. I made a pesto chicken cream sauce to go over noodles. Tasty! It was nice to just have an evening in with good company (when he behaved), tasty dinner, and a glass of wine. This is a fun term in allowing me to ease out of the university lifestyle and into a more grown-up lifestyle.
This week, it's just Chris and I at the house. The house feels so empty, it's nice but with such little time left here I want more fun with the roomies.

Checked out "50 First Dates" with Johnny on Thursday evening. I am usually not a fan of Adam Sandler movies but quite enjoyed this one. Luckily the commercials didn't give away too much of the movie. Good music and a cute penguin contributed to my liking.
Tonight, I am "in chage" of the V-day plans. I'm attempting to cook a real type dinner. After my sucess in making pasta salad, I feel confident in my culinary capabilities. Then it'll be gift exchange time. I am quite excited about one gift I got him. Usually I don't get excited over giving gifts, so this is a novel emotion for me.

I feel so accomplished - I made pasta salad for the first time in my life and it turned out good without using a recipe!

Unfortunately I no longer have any student access to things. I can't even take things out of the library, but I will be able to once I get my alumni card. However, apparently I don't become an alumni until I walk across the stage at convocation, or so says some random woman who does the alumni e-community. Is this accurate?

Bomber was some good times last night. Somehow I got a little more tipsy than anticipated, and I am not too sure how. We almost stayed till close but thankfully Alyssa drove us to McDonalds in her new car first. For some reason, Andréa and I thought we'd be less fat and split a McChicken but really we both ended up eating most of Jonny's double cheeseburger meal.
Noticed a few of the FedS candidates there handing out their buttons. Good way to get your name out there further but is it really the place to be discussing politics? No - it's the place to dance to Dirrrty and make a fool of yourself. Glad I'm not running!

Wow. My legs apparently are quite weak. Today in swim class, all we did was kicking exercises. I kick and I kick and I kick and I just don't go anywhere. My legs are like jelly right now, but that's not stopping me from hitting up the Bomber tonight - for like the first time since week one.

I realized Sunday night while watching Survivor how much of a Survivor geek I truly am. Most people couldn’t remember a couple Survivors here and there from past seasons but geeky me was not only familiar with who they were, what season they were from, but could also tell you when it was they were voted out, who voted against them, why they were voted out, etc.
I’ve decided I’m going to bring back my weekly Survivor rant/review that I did way back with the first season, and instead of sending out a weekly email, you can read my thoughts online. I won’t subject my non-Survivor blog readers to such musings though. Instead, I created a website for this. (I am trying to get as much practice using Dreamweaver). I added the link on the right column there. Will usually be updated on the Friday following Survivor.

Checked out Mystic River tonight, after an unsucessful attempt to watch it yesterday afternoon. Decent movie, typical type thriller movie. I don't understand though why it was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director. There was nothing spectaular about this movie, there were about 50 different themes and so many different types of angles and uses of the camera. The only thing note worthy were some of the performances, well actually the only performance that was decent was Marcia Gay Harden. Or maybe I am just biased about her since I love her. This one's a renter folks.
