Lately I have been getting the message to go to Montauk Point. Well, maybe not go there but I have never heard of this place and within the last few weeks, it has been thrown at me in three different mediums. And by thrown at me, I mean it was part of something that I throughlly enjoyed. Maybe I just am meant to name my future dog Montauk or something like that. Deep thoughts tonight folks!
Dreaming of Hawaii
The day to day happenings of a boy who wants to live in a simple shack on the beaches of Hawaii but is currently stranded in the urban sprawl of Mississauga.

I met with a "finacial advisor" at the CIBC in the SLC. I guess I can't really complain too much as look at where I chose to go for financial advice. I just want a real finacial advisor who understands where I've come from and knows what I want for my future. The CIBC chiquita just upgraded from being a teller. She tried to sell me a line of credit. Not impressed with that, I was there making an investment, why would I ever want to take out a line of credit? My personal financial advisor will know the only debt I ever want to incur is a mortgage. And when I asked about what I should do when I head to England, she told me to just make sure I use my bank card at valid locations (YEAH - and be charged an arm and a leg). I want a finacial advisor, not a salesperson. How does one find a trusty financial advisor? Ideally, I would like someone young but knows what they are doing - that way I can remain with them until retirement.

I am no longer able to shop at the Gap. I got a gift certificate at Christmas for the store but have still not found anything in the past 6 months that I have wanted to buy. I seem to be having a problem with their sizing. The small is significantly smaller than I would like and when I upgrade to medium, it's more wide than it is long.
If anyone is interested in purchasing my GAP gift certificate off of me, please do so.

For some fun times, check out a quiz all about me!

So a federal election has been called. Glad I'll get to vote before shipping out to England. The question is, for who? According to David's Soft Rock the Vote quiz, I should vote Liberal. It's definately a toss-up between Liberal and NDP. I always say I am going to vote NDP but change to Liberal. I think the federal Liberals have done a fine job managing our country. I am personally satisfied with the Canadian way of life, and I really don't care too much about the sponsorship scandal. I think this election, it may come down to the actual candidates in my riding. As well, I need to deterime if I'll vote in the Waterloo riding or the Uxbridge riding. Kudos to me.

After a terrifically fun weekend in Toronto, followed by a few days in Uxbridge, I am totally prepared to face this work week - which is only 4 days! Four days = less money but also less work.

"That's probably a fire or someone dying" Meera says as we sit here at Toronto General listening to a random beeping sound. We're currently checking our emails! Yeahoo! Yes I am back staying with Meera again - after her wonderful hospitality on TUesday night how could I turn down crashing here last night and tonight.
Last night, I was the token boy out with Catherine and some lesbian friends. It was tons of fun. A different reversal then when it was Catherine out with us boys.
I love it here in the city and being around the village. It almost makes me not want to go England. Is 8 months a short period of time or a long one?

Headed to Toronto yesterday afternoon to scope out Jason Mraz's concert at Mazzey Hall. On my way to pick up our 2nd row tickets, I passed Mr Mraz on the street with what looked like his girlfriend. Two younger fans of his also saw him and yelled "JASON MRAZ! JASON MRAZ! Can we have a photo?" This propelled Jason to run away. Let the man enjoy his down time. Although if he hadn't run away, I probably would have shown him my giant finger. Giant finger? Well, instead of making an "I love Jason Mraz" shirt, I made Christine and I giant foam fingers! Actually I bought the fingers from Michael's and wrote on them myself.
After our first dinner at the Pickle Barrell, Christine and I browsed Eaton Centre for a bit before checking out the rocking concert. Jason Mraz really is incredible live - even better than his live album. He's top notch and makes each performance unique. It did kind of suck that most of the audience were teenagers - but I guess what can you expect when he puts one of his songs on the New York Minute soundtrack.

Had a blast on Saturday night at Ren. Great mix of people. Free drinks, good music at the end, and some fun flirtation. The problem the next day was that I had a throbbing headache due to the variety of drinks drunken (ie vodka coolers, wine, random free drinks, rum & cokes, and 2 shots). I think it was the wine and the shots that did me in. I always feel guilty if I don't buy a shot because I know the shooter boy even though I generally dislike shots at the bar. I think though after what my headache taught me, it's to stick with the same type of alcohol for the night.

As if I posted about Canadian Geese yesterday. How boring. I think I ended up blogging about that because I felt the need to blog but was being careful of what to blog about. I've been thinking lately about blogs and the privacy (or lack thereof) that comes along with a blog. I would like to post freely about my professional and personal life and include all the nitty gritty details that make life interesting. However, I refrain from that because really, anyone can stumble upon a blog. I really should just live my life as I want to, and if people happen to find my blog and discover I like looking at Canadian Geese, then so be it.

I like the Canadian Geese around campus. I think it's cute how they're all paired up and they walk around with their little babies. I saw one family with 16 little geese, it was crazy. I will however make sure to post about how ugly the geese get in a few weeks. Really it's only cute now.

I love summers, they have so much potential for good times! Although there's only like 1/2 as many people I know in Waterloo as usual (or perhaps even less), I can still feel the greatness this summer can be. We're slowly running out of summers when we have no obligations (ie jobs, and the like) so it's best to make the most of them.
Current my fun summer plans include: a trip to massey hall to see Jason Mraz, May long weekend in Toronto perhaps, convocation/birthday, pride weekend, a trip to Ottawa and hopefully Montreal and Quebec City. Ok, so maybe I don't have too much happening but I feel like I have a good start.
Note: August 21 = end of summer pool/bbq/tent/field party in Uxbridge.

Barf-a-roni. Am I watching The Bachelor or Survivor?
I before posted that I think I would have been like Jenna if I had to be a Survivor contestant but now when I hear Lex back-peddaling to defend him taking out Colby, Ethan, and Jerri, I think I would have been more like Lex: pissed off when my own strategy would work against me. But I definately agree with Lex the most on the fact that Survivor is more than a game, it does combine relationships into it. That's my opinion.

I make no bones about being a cry baby, the stupidest things can make me cry. Usually the right piece of music on a movie or tv show does it, espically if it's the series finale. As I prepared to watch Friends last night, I fully expected to cry at the end - even though I haven't watched it very much lately and really don't care too much about it ending. But instead of crying at Friends, I ended up crying to a freakin' commercial from Bell about how you should call your mother on Mother's Day. Clever people those Bell people, making us use their service like that. The sad part is that I was making fun of the commercial in the first five seconds, and then it turned on me and got it's revenge. It's the commercial where the dad puts an electronic shoe tag on his wife as she prepares to run a race (marathon??) so the kids can track her at home and relay where she is to the dad. I basically was scoffing at the commercial, really, who needs to track their wife in a race?? But then the wife stops running at one point, so he calls the kids and has them give some encoragement to the mom and she starts running again. LOL- I'm beginning to get watery eyes already.

I knew living in the basement of Chris' new place was risky (as I am not allowed to be there). Today before heading to the gym and work, I had to prep my room to make it look like no one is living there and it's just being used for storage. I think I did a pretty good job. The reason for this is that our landlord is coming by today to check out the water drip in our living room. Hopefully it will be a quick fix job because if there's a handyman coming in every day of the week to work on it - I am going to have to figure out a plan. Who knows how we'll deal with it once Naomi moves into Krista's room this weekend.
