After watching tonight's episode of Celebrity Mole: Hawaii, I have reconfirmed two of my biggest goals in life. a) to go to Hawaii for a few months at least and learn how to surf and b) to be on a reality tv show, more specifically only one of the following will: The Mole, Survivor or The Amazing Race. Why? I just want that expierence, it would be truly amazing to be able to partake in any of these 3 shows. Unfortunately my Canadian blood currently prevents me from getting close to any of those programs. Maybe I will move to Hawaii and go for my American citizenship!

On Friday night is the KW Pride Prom. Aaron and I will be getting dressed up all spiffly to attend this formal event. I finally will get to wear my now coveted shirt from Mexx. Dave and Joel (on a break) will be going too as well as Chris and his sister. We are going to be a bunch of good looking boys. The photos certaintly will be an intresting change of pace from the typical formal events that usually have lovely females on the side of the boys.

Why do I bother with the TV show Alias? Yes, it is highly enjoyable but I usually do not put up with things that are inconsistent. This show constantly has a hard time keeping track of timelines and sometimes the audience is forced to go along with the oddest ideas. Nonetheless, I do continue to watch.

Last night was meant to be a night for studying but instead I was pulled away from the end of Trading Spaces to go on a pub crawl. The only reason I went was because I haven't partied it up with Ali yet. So I went to her place for drinks first, and then we met up with the rest of the gang at the Heuther (aka Barley Works) for some drinks there and my favourite camp game which of course we turned into a drinking game. We proceeded to McMullens, a first for me, where I was lucky engough to run into Kevin, Lauren, Matt, Nat and Robin! I haven't seen these kids in awhile, except for Kevin who has class with me. I definately have decided I need to start hanging out with my North A friends and crew because although I enjoy the dons and thier party life I miss my the North A peoples.
After some time at McMullens, Ali, Andrea and myself cabbed it to Ren at 1:30am to make in for some drinks and dancing there. We met up with Chris and Melissa and throughly enjoyed ourselves to 3:15 or whenever it is the lights get turned on (scary!) Then it was to Gino's for pizza and a milk crate. Finally making it home at 4am, I refused to go to bed until 5am. Somehow I managed to wake up David using MSN and I watched the end of Trading Spaces (I taped it before I left!)
A busy night that was not meant to be. However, I am very very glad I partook!

Poor customer service irritates me so much that flames, flames, flames...on the side of my face. I thought customer service departments were designed specifically to assist with questions/concerns/complaints. Well, apparently not all of them. Earlier this week I called Entertainment Weekly, my only subscription magazine, as now for the second time in less than 5 months they seemed to have magically changed my address to something not bearing any resemblance to the real thing. I called and spoke to Tony who offered that the Canada Post changed my address since it looked funny. Umm, sure thing Tony. So he put my address back to what it should be. I was fully not satisfied - for all I knew someone at this other address was changing it so they could steal my subscription. All you need to go online and change your address is the subscription number located at the top of my mailing label. I then logged onto to the website to fire off an online feedback form to complain about the situation. Here is the reply I received if you can believe it. This was not good enough in the least bit. I called them back and this time spoke to Tammy who basically informed me she couldn't tell me anything because their records only go back to the last inquiry you made. My last inquiry was the email I sent, thus Tammy had no record of when I spoke to Tony and thus could also not see who had called in to update my address, Ridic! After speaking to Tammy for awhile, she assured me she did something to my file so the address could only be updated via a phone call (so no online updates). I guess Tammy didn't understand my concern. I thanked her nonetheless and hung-up.
Today, I got a call from a very friendly sounding woman from Entertainment Weekly. I thought "Wow, a manager or someone is following up on my concern!" Nope, turns out this was just Karen who wanted to know if I would like to renew my subscription! HAH! I told her no, she asked why, and I relayed the above story in a condensed version to her. This surprised her. Hopefully, she will pass the message on that they have lost this customer due to their poor customer service.

Three events have impacted me today. I was removed from tonight's game of Risk 2210 A.D. severely severely early because of a silly personal vendetta Chris had against me. I felt ditched by my boy on the second movie in less than a week. Finally, I got to see a great friend who I barely ever get to see. These events have caused me to enter a need for solitude. I am hoping this needed solitude will help me promote my schoolwork for the remainder of the weekend. Please note, for someone who is slightly more introverted than extraverted this is a good thing.

Have you ever wondered who could pull an airplane further; an elephant or 50 little people? (please note that little people does in fact mean people who are little)
Well, my friends this answer can be learnt tonight on Man vs Beast. There is also a hot dog eating challnege between a Kodiak bear and a world champion hot dog eater. As well as a sprint between some american big name athlete against a giraffe and zebra! To top it all off, there will also be a chimpanzee taking on the best of the best marine/army/navy in an obstacle course.
What does this say about our society when a show like this can be made? People may blame Survivor for such an onslaght of crappy reality TV but the truth is that Reality TV still needs some form of plot to make it worthwhile.
When we saw the preview for this show, Aaron somehow linked the challenge of little people vs. elephant to the Joe Millionaire commercial just prior to it and thought this was one of the dates Joe Millionaire was taking the girls on! Now THAT would have been the ultimate Reality TV!

Academic Standing: Conditional standing - must raise Plan average(s)
Oh :( That is the warning Quest gives you when you are 0.1% below your necessary average.
Damn those of you with horseshoes up your ass, you have stolen them from the usual place in my ass.

Anyone want to go see Igby Goes Down at the Princess Cinema with me tonight?

At the end of each day I live I wonder if it would have been exciting as engough as a season of 24. Yesterday was certainly full to the brim of activity. I went to work for my start time of 11:15 - I got a job as waiter at Ground Zero. However, it was not busy engough so I didn't get to clock in. AFter you've waited an hour of not working, they give you a free meal. So as I am eating this intresting creation called a Monte Crisco Sandwhich, the restarant suddenly gets busy and I have to stop mid-meal to clock in and take a few tables. Then the restaurant stayed busy for me and I only had like 4 tables max at a time.
Then the whole ordeal with Bomber getting shut down, I decided to skip my night class so I could go the party. After my night class has begun and I head to the caf for dinner, I learn that UW police made an early shutdown of Bomber. Argh!
I also spent alot of time with Aaron on the phone, talking about some deep questions. We always continue to learn more from one another. Interject watching Joe Millionaire (I liked Alison), writing an angry letter to Entertainment Weekly, and writing a letter to Bud Walker. That was my day. Ususally Tuesdays are more like 24 for me. I think though for a day in my life to be anything like a season of 24, I need to start have all the exciting things in my life only happen at 55 minutes past the hour. I would also need some females in my life to start betraying me.

I went to Future Shop with Krista in search for a USB/Ps2 adapater since my USB port is fried and I want my cool optic mouse to be in use. Krista and I searched around for one of these adapters and I finally found one but it was attached to a display keyboard - in fact most display itmes had it out. So I took one off and brought it to a clerk to ask him where I could actually find such an adapter to purchase. He told me that they don't sell them seperately and only come with the new mouse or keyboard. Well as fate would have it I purchased my mouse from Future Shop like a year ago and it had been a display mouse so it was super cheap and came in a bag, not a box. As I am a pack rat and I keep everything I figured I would go home and see if there had been one of these adapters with my bag. Krista recommended I just steal one of the adapters as it would have been easy to do and odds were that Future Shop ripped me off by not giving me one way back when. I opted not to do this. I did though return home and search for such an item and sure engough they had not given me one. It sucks because I no longer have my receipt so like Future Shop will listen to my story. I should have just took what was rightfully mine.

I have abdonded looking good on the way to class in exchange for staying warm. Not only am I wearing a toque that isn't very flattering but I also get decked out in my hot scarf. Mittens are not yet required as my pockets seem to be sufficient engough.
I am about to spend 2 hours in a computer lab working on an assignment that is worth zero marks. What's with that? Assignments for fun???!

Perhaps I would have enjoyed being a doctor. Today it was all about playing with the brain of a sheep and locating various brain parts. This is for my psych class that is basically research in behavioral neuroscience. Apparently in the past you also got to lesion parts of a gerbil's brain but it seems as though anything beyond this sheep brain has slowly been phased out over the past few years. People I know in psych is slowly growing each day and it's a very enjoyable process. Although most of these people are simply acquaintances, it's still far more enjoyable than them just being another random kid from class.
Saw "Gangs of New York" last night. It was enjoyable. You might think though that with all the delays this movie went through that things would have been perfect. No. Apparently scars can flake off. Daniel Day-Lewis was very excellent in his role and I can understand why there is Oscar buzz about him already. Now the goals include seeing Adapation, The Hours, Far from Heavan, and Bowling for Columbine.

I think it may be time to start searching for a new email address. I get far too much junk mail and it really packs a punch if you don't check your email everyday. I just would like to get a new address that is simple and includes my name as opposed to sunshinesmileyme. The search begins.
I was brutally awoken last night at 3:45am for my first wake-up lockout this year. Last year the record was 4:30am. Last night was also my first go at Risk 2210 A.D. and luckily I managed to win this first expierence. I think being the one who read the rulebook worked in my advantage. I did not cheat. Wait, so if I was playing RISK, why wasn't I at the infamous hot tub party? My heart was there but for various reasons my body was not. I think I should have toughed it up and gone though.
Friday was a fun day all around. Aaron and I met Dave for a lunch date at bomber (deli, that is), where the service was ridiculous. We established there is no point in the cashier taking your money or your order because the girl who was preparing the food would just ask you again and that is when your food cooking began. For example, although I ordered chicken fingers and fries they didn't go into the deep fryer until the food prep girl reached me. Aaron blacklisted the deli and I don't blame him but I will give it another chance as it is the beginning of term and they're hiring.
Friday evening we reunited at Phil's where not much has changed. You still can't beat the $1.75 drinks or the smell in the back room. We were the second set of people there - keeners yes! Not much dancing was done this time around, I guess I am just down with the rock songs that are no longer popular. My keys ended up locked in Christines car since they decided to leave early (Jenn was being sick) along with my jacket. That meant I would be walking home with no jacket and then waking up another don to let me in. Luckily, we cabbed it to Mel's diner for food and the absolute end of Nic's night. From Mel's I jogged home in my t-shirt, stopped by biology to go on MSN (????), then called a don from the SLC at 3am. Good thing Colin is addicted to a new computer game because he was still awake!
Tomorrow I aim to have the internet working in my room. It's also going to be my first day of jogging for the year!

The norwalk didn't quite catch me, but yet I have not been posting to my blog so one might think otherwise though. Apparently my residence house is on a different SWITCH (in computer terms) from the rest of residence and on top of that my room is on another switch seperate from the rest of my house. This means I again do not have internet in my room. So it's been a hectic few days trying to get into the swing of things when I can't check anything online. MEH I'll deal.
Basic rundown of the last few days: I have a renewed drive to be a great don, my new residents are friendly and seem to want to get to know the rest of the house. I discovered that although only having 2 days of classes sounds cool, those days end up being very long and sore on the feet. I will speak more of my classes and the psych kids later. The third floor had a rather major flood from the bathroom drain and now their showers AND the showers on the 2nd floor are out of commission.
Well apparently I seem much busier in my head than I actually am, I realize that now that I have this all written down.

Norwalk is coming for me. I can't seem to find any INTRESTING info on this flu. It seems like there is quite the outbreak of it going on but there isn't too many articles about high rates of it.

I hate it when I just miss posting on my blog for the previous day by one minute. I really am trying my hardest to update daily. At least now I have tomorrow's post taken care of so I don't have to worry about doing anything exciting or making up a lie of something exciting I did.

Wow - this snowstorm that so many people are talking about is actually materializing! Congrats Mother Nature. Luckily, we just made it back from the casino before it's gotten too bad. Unluckily, I lost $20 at the casino. I impress myself when I go to the casino because while I was growing up I feared I would become some crazy gambling addict. I would get my grandma to buy me lotto tickets (with my own money) whenever the opportunity presented itself. Now however, when I go to gamble, I bring an alotted amount of money I can deal with losing (usually only $20). When I lose it, I lose it, no trying to win it back. I was fortunate engough that my money was dragged out of me slowly to allow for maximum playing time. Jessica did extremly well. She took more risks and wagered higher spins, but she was rewarded. She went in with $10 and left with $50. She could have had another $40 if she just listened to Krista at the big wheel. Speaking of big wheels, there was a Price is Right slot machine with Plinko on it!!! AHHH! But there was a constant line-up to play. I ended up not playing it and justify it by assuming that because it's such a brand name attention seeker it doesn't pay out as often as the typical no name one armed bandits.
Intresting occurance at the bank machine inside the casino. After Sheri and I got our money, a little Asain man asked Sheri to help with the machine. She directed him through each step. His English was not very good so I can only imagine how he was doing at blackjack. How much did he withdraw? NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS! RIdic, I don't even know anyone who's bank lets them have a limit THAT high. I think Sheri should have charged a $20 translation fee or at least looked when he typed his passcode in.

OMG - totally forgot to mention about one of my fabulous gifts from Aaron. For Christmas he got me a signed photograph of Aaron and Arianne. They were by far my fave team ever on Amazing Race. Yummy yummy shoulders.
I will be framing this photo as a tribute to my reality tv obession.

New Years was enjoyable this year. Just like a wild fantastic night out at the bar and that was definately what the doctor ordered. I'm glad I wasn't super drunk or I would have fallen flat on my ass when I say Joel and HIS homemade t-shirt. Apparently cowboys love him.
I have become quite the smoke snob. As Waterloo has been smoke free for 2 years now, I have grown so acustomed to coming from bars and NOT smelling like smoke. I can only hope that one day all bars will be smoke free. Save the youth of tomorrow!
I am currently in Ancaster at Aaron's. We are just spending time hanging out, watching movies, feeding turtles, looking at fat Aaron photo's, and napping. We do have plans to go see Star Trek:Nemesis this evening. We are geeks but not as big of geeks as some people we know.
