Today was Robbie Burns Day. We enjoyed haggis and roast beef for dinner, complete with a traditional piping of the haggis. This sounds more exciting than what actually occurs: a bagpiper plays as they march the haggis in and do a little ceremony that involves a shot of whiskey for the chef and bagpiper.
Afterwards, we retired to the ballroom for some student performances of Scottish music and poetry by Robbie Burns. It's quite amazing considering how small our student population is that we not only have talented people but we have people who can play the harp, play the bagpipes, highland dance, and more. It's also weird to be surrounded by so many arts students, rather than engineers and mathies.
